If you’ve ever moved location or lost access to a Google My Business (also known as Google +, Google Places and Google Maps among other names) page then you would understand how frustrating it can be to try and get your page fixed, updated or to regain access to it. Another problem that we’ve seen user face is not being able to fully remove or delete listings, only ‘stop managing’ them.
On one of the best-days-ever, there is now a live chat option that business owners and agencies can use for help and support! Previously you would need to submit a post through a Google forum, attach screen shots and cross-you-fingers that someone from the search engine would get back to you and help fix the issue. Throughout that process they would often just refer you to articles that were outdated or didn’t fix your problem. This has made GMB have a bad user-experience for many companies around the world so hopefully the addition of this live chat window will help to elevate those challenges.
GMB pages are crucial to businesses that have customers or clients locally so that when someone is searching for a product or service either on their desktop or mobile device, a relevant listing appears. Outdated pages have been ruining the user-experience for some users for a long time so it’s about time that Google has addressed this issue. Will the live chat line be useful and help business owners and marketers fix up incorrect listings? We’ll give it try and report back!
How do I access it?
- Step 1) Login to your Google My Business Account at https://business.google.com/
- In the top left-hand corner, click on the 3 lines
- Click on the ‘Support’ option
- Click on the ‘Live Chat’ option
