Re-target users who have already shown interest in your brand or product, and reel them back into your website with Google Remarketing.
Ever felt like you have visited a website and suddenly it seems that the brand is ‘following’ you around as you surf the web? The chances are that the website you visited is cleverly utilising a remarketing campaign to lure you back in!
In all forms of advertising, repeat exposure ensures the message stays with potential customers and, when the time comes for them to make a purchase, your product or service is more likely to remain front-of-mind. When it comes to online marketing, it’s no different, and for this reason remarketing is a very popular advertising strategy.
How does it work?
Remarketing (or sometimes referred to as retargeting) works by identifying those who have visited your site previously. Your ads are then shown to them as they browse other sites connected to the Google Display Network, reminding them about your business.
For example, someone may visit an online store that sells handbags, and they may select one that they like and add it to their shopping cart. Imagine this person opts out at the checkout phase, and decides to save their money – you can see that they are interested, yet they changed their mind. By placing ads for the handbag and similar products on other sites they are browsing, they’re constantly reminded about their intention to make a purchase. When they decide to take the plunge, the business that was doing the remarketing would be the first they’ll turn to.
Remarketing allows you to deliver the right message to the right people. It provides businesses with a way to keep clients engaged once they have left their website, and it also allows you to upsell or cross sell related products to those who have made similar purchases in the past.
