What is Remarketing?
In a general sense, Remarketing (or Retargeting) is a tactic used by digital marketers on pay-per-click platforms that allows advertising to reengage visitors that have already visited a webpage. Essentially a cookie is put into the browser of a searcher, and this searcher can then have strategic messages displayed to them again with the aim of a) giving them more exposure to your brand, b) hopefully pull them back onto your website and then c) hopefully go on to make contact or complete a sale!
How does this relate to Facebook?
Facebook Remarketing gives businesses the opportunity to target users on the platform that have already visited or expresses interest in your site or Facebook brand page. It lets you show strategic ads to potential customers or clients that have already done their research but didn’t go on to make a purchase or put through a lead.
How does it work?
Using the Custom Audiences feature, we will install a snippet of code onto your website that will place a cookie on the computers of users that have viewed your site. This code will send information back to Facebook. From there we’ll use Custom Audience preferences to show specific users strategic remarketed ads. For example, if someone was on a specific product page on your website but didn’t go on to complete the purchase of it, we can retarget ads to them of that product with a 10% discount.

- Increase conversions – Some people don’t make a decision to buy then-and-there. Reminding those users or your brand and products/ services can prompt them to convert at a later rate.
